I started studying Empirical Linguistics (focus on Caucasian linguistics, major) and Ethnology (minor) at the Goethe University in Frankfurt in 2010, obtained my Bachelors in 2013 and my Masters in 2015.

During these 5 years, I worked in 2 international projects (funded by the European Union and Volkswagen Foundation) as a coordinator, organizer and manager. My responsibilities included my linguistic expertise as well as budget controlling, organization of kick-off meetings and much more.

After my graduation in 2015, the Goethe University offered me a PhD-position in the graduate school „Nominal modification“ which I gladly accepted. 3 years later, I succesfully submitted and defended my thesis, and passed with „magna cum laude“.

After my defense, I worked as a research associate at the Institute for Empirical Linguistics at the Frankfurt University until 2022. From April 2022 on, I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC) of the Hamburg University and since December 2024, additionally as a postdoctoral researcher for Georgian Studies and lecturer for compulsory lectures at the Institute for Empirical Linguistics at the Frankfurt University.

Since 2020, I have been nominated four times for the annual prize “Excellence in Teaching” (1822-Lehrpreis) of the Goethe University Frankfurt and in 2024, I was one of the winners.

The three winners of 2024: Prof. Sagunski (middle), Dr. Abele (right) and me (left).
From left to right: Jannik Liedtke (laudatory student), Dr. Ingo Wiedemeier (board chairman of Frankfurter Sparkasse), me, Prof. Viera Pirker (vice president of the Goethe University) and Julian Hasche (laudatory student).

My research interests include morphology, syntax, semantics-pragmatics, typology, digital humanities, translation studies, synchronic and diachronic linguistics, comparative linguistics, corpus linguistics, especially in but not limited to (South) Caucasian languages.

On the side, I volunteer as a translator (books published at Frankfurter Verlagsanstalt), editor, PR-manager and event organizer at the literary saloon „EUTERPE“ from 2009 to 2019 and contributed to the guest appearance of Georgia at the book fair in 2018 in Frankfurt.
